Just north of Portrush, this quiet little town of Portstewart boasts one of Ireland's most beautiful beaches. The Northwest 2000 road race draws motorbike fans from around the world every spring to this area. The locally famous ice-cream shops also attract visitors all year round.

This hidden coastal path begins at the White Church at Ballintoy and hugs the cliff top as you head south. Take a picnic and enjoy the beautiful views of Sheep Island, Rathlin and the nearby harbour.

This rocky promontory on the Antrim Coast is still topped with the ruins of an old coastguard station. A narrow but well maintained footpath gives access to the headland, opening up wonderful views of the beautiful Northern Irish coastline.

Reputed to be haunted, this former hotel once graced the headland at Drumnagreagh. Sadly this lovely old building has recently been razed. The views over Carnlough bay and Garron point are spectacular from this high vantage point.

This is a view across Larne Lough from the small harbour at Ferris Point on Islandmagee. The Chaine Memorial Tower in the background commemorates one of Larne's most famous sons, James Chaine. Work on the granite tower commenced in 1887.

Just 1 mile north of Carnlough on the Antrim coast road, Ringfad is the location of a Spanish shipwreck. According to the locals, gold rings and coins washed up along the coast. It is believed that the beautiful old sweet chestnut that grows in the nearby Cairncastle graveyard sprouted from a chestnut in the pocket of a Spanish sailor who was buried there.

The evening light in North West Donegal can be spectacular. As the sun go down, looking across Sheephaven Bay towards Portnablagh and Dunfanaghy is really atmospheric. This view is from the rocky peninsula of Horn Head, accessed by a little road that hugs the Bay just outside Dunfanaghy.
