The world famous Giant’s Causeway is located on the North Antrim Coast. It is by far the most popular destination for visitors to our shores. The basalt columns and hexagonal rock populate the whole area ,well worth a closer look.

This tranquil limestone harbour is at the end of a twisty little road on the North Antrim Coast. The fishing industry here has diminished but its popularity has increased. This is largely due to ‘Game of Thrones’ ………it’s now a site on the film location trail. I think I prefer it as a quiet little bay, somewhere to paddle.
Mew island is a rocky little island in Belfast Lough, just off the County Down coast. At one time it had the brightest light in Ireland; it still has a working lighthouse but the ‘bulb’ has been updated. At night it’s visible as far away as Scotland and Isle of Man. Now-a-days it is a bird sanctuary and a research hub for university students.
Located on the County Down coast, the colourful lighthouse is just a short drive north from the town of Newcastle. It’s a lovely location for a evening walk in calm weather.
Original painting 14.5 × 10,5 inches approx
Waterfoot beach is a hidden gem on the Antrim Coast ……. one of my favourite locations. The backdrop you experience is the famous Glenariff Glen….and in front, Scotland (on a good day). There’s a great fish and chip shop just a stones throw from the sand beach.
Original painting 14.5 × 10.5 inches approx
Garron point is an unusual rocky headland on the Antrim Coast. White limestone cliffs are topped with weathered basalt rock. The area is pitted with caves and holes; my brother-in-law and I discovered a cave system in the area a quite few years ago ( detailed in Irelands speleology mag.) Here I was on Billy Flecks fishing boat, just off the coast …. the view inspired this painting.
Original painting 14.5 × 10.5 inches approx
Ballycastle beach is just a short walk from the busy Main Street of Ballycastle town. Fairhead dominates the background as you stroll up the sandy beach. A few minutes on the fast ferry takes you to Rathlin Island, another treat for the senses.

The beautiful Mourne Mountains in County Down is Ulsters highest range. They provide a wonderful challenge to the fittest of our climbers and walkers. This is a painting of one of the many cottages the appear between the granite walls and gorse bushes …. the dominant feature as you travel around the network of mountain roads and lanes.

Belfast City sits at the base of the Cavehill. It is a popular location for walkers and ramblers and if you fancy a day out at the Zoo the Cavehill looms large in the background as you explore the sights and sounds (not to mention the smells).

Royal Portrush Golf Course is located on the rugged North Antrim Coast . it recently hosted the ‘153rd Open’ golf tournament ….. a great chance to see our local hero Rory McIlroy in action. This is a great location to view the limestone cliffs and Dunluce Castle in the distance.
Original Painting 14.5 × 10.5 inches approx
The fishing boat is making its way back to the picturesque harbour at Carnlough, a short distance away from Glenarm. The village of Glenarm meets the sea at the busy Marina, just down from the castle and walled gardens. There is also a lovely forest walk along the river, particular beautiful in spring with bluebells and wild garlic dominating the ground cover.

The evening light in North West Donegal can be spectacular. As the sun go down, looking across Sheephaven Bay towards Portnablagh and Dunfanaghy is really atmospheric. This view is from the rocky peninsula of Horn Head, accessed by a little road that hugs the Bay just outside Dunfanaghy.
