Between Antrim town and Templepatrick lie the hill and church at Donegore. Among the famous buried here is the poet, Sir Samuel Ferguson. Another famous poet before him, James Orr wrote a poem about Donegore as did my great grandfather, Alex McGladdary … alas, not so famous. Going back even further there have been churches on this site since the 14th century. Furthermore, archaeologists have discovered remains and earthworks that far predate all of this.
